Acquired by Lords Antiques & Salvage on the 1st May 2018, Greendale house of Ingleton was a modern, retail space and home to the Yorkshire Dales famous outdoor retailer Dalesware Ltd.
When the keys were handed over and the tenancy for the building was signed, the Lords team quickly picked up their tools & began the transformation of the building; from a new retail outlet, to the industrial, retro Antiques dealership it is today.
The transformation was a well thought out operation that took the team just 3 months to orchestrate from start to finish and being Antique & Reclamation specialists, the materials used in the renovation were acquired from various unusual sources.
from partition stud walls, built from reclaimed scaffolding planks & wood chip boards separating the vendor stalls to a salvageable horse box trailer that has been customised into a reception counter, these unusual characteristics make Lords Antiques the quirky store people love to return to each and every day…
The horse box was cut into 3 pieces so it could fit through the entrance of the store and was hand built once indoors, the counter, shelves and cladding of the horse box were all pieced together from reclaimed scaffold planks and mount a antique till as a centrepiece, keeping the traditional antique look to the reception.
Although the reclaimed horse box makes a fantastic, quirky feature, The classic 1957 Bedford bus was originally purchased to be transformed into the reception desk of Lords, but the team couldn’t take the tools to damaging such a rare piece of classic history. The vehicle has attracted many visitors from all over the world and lives to see another day: <<<link to 1957 Bedford SB0 Bus article.>>>
Our outdoor 8,000Sq Foot reclamation & Salvage yard boundary was hand crafted using old, salvaged ship rope from the docks of Heysham and the stone pillars to the front of the yard came from the famous Lancaster Barracks. Our wide range of reclaimed stone, cobbles, flags and lintels were the first products to arrive on site along with many rare artefacts that belong to our experienced, knowledgable and reputable antiques Dealers, filing the store before our open day.
The task of renovating Greendale House was an absolute pleasure and the whole team had such a great time from start to finish. from Pete the joiner who was an absolute scream to the hands on directors, Bretten & Dean who put their hands to everything to make the launch date a success.
Lords Antiques & Salvage boasts over 65 stalls and is home to over 45 of the most renowned antiques dealers in the UK. We are so thankful to everyone who participated in the Greendale House Renovation and are happy our customers comment on the unique characteristics each and every day.
